Step II : Sketching, roughly
Now that I have a storyboard, I can start drawing the actual page itself. I use 200 grams A4 format
paper, which is nice and heavy, and able to hold the indian ink without my lines bleeding all over the place. Although recently, the thought of using A3 Format paper has been crossing my mind, since the small size of the A4 does make it difficult for me to do the smaller details sometimes.
Anyway, first I try to copy the panel borders from the storyboard onto the paper, after which I loosely sketch in the panels. A lot of times, I'll just sketch the characters, and draw overal lines for the backgrounds.
