Mal'draccus is the eccentric Ark'nagath of the city of Azuth, and headmaster of the Zech'kahdon Institute of Magecraft, which resides on the edge of the city. Irrat is known as a calm and calculating, but very stubborn person.
Although he carries the title of Ark'nagath, he himself is not nobility. The Idrahim family, the noble family to whom the domain actually belongs, failed to produce a heir themselves, and decided to hand this power over to Irrat, who was already headmaster at the institute at the time. Because his power is lent to him, Irrat does not hold absolute power.
Leadership
To govern Azuth, the Ark'nagath set up a council of elders, which consists of a group of 10 individuals hand picked by him. These 10 handle the day by day ruling of the domain, and Irrat holds weekly meetings with them to ensure things are going as they should.
As headmaster of the institute, Irrat follows a similar strategy, working through a teachers and student council. He is well-liked by both those that teach and those that are taught. He promotes an open-minded attitude towards students, and allows them a great degree of freedom, unless their actions conflict with their studies.
Intrigue
- Mal'draccus greatly distrusts and disrespects the Goathicus noblehouse, whom he considers vain, arrogant and power-hungry simpletons. This sentiment is echoed by many of the fledgling mages studying at the institute.
- Irrat also leads curse research at the secret facility called Uma Dorma
